"Give a deadhead the job and sh*t like this wouldn't happen. "

I don't know. The Deadheads around here have trouble typing sometimes.

That's true.

If it would have been "Let It Geow" or "Let ItGtow" I might have been able to let it slide.

Given a certain line in Looks Like Rain, Let it Meow might have been a better name for it.

I believe the problem is not that the person who wrote this didn't know the name of the song. No, the problem is that Rhino recently hired closet deadhead and former manservant for the late Quincy Magoo, Charlie, as the head of its advertising department. While always clever and resourceful, Charlie has had some issues with the English language. Let's cut him some slack, okay?

Very true.

If you look at other releases you'll notice such favorites as:

Brack Muddy River
Razy Rightning
and, my fave, Rooser

And don't forget the previous editor, E. Fudd. Some greats that came out under his supervision:

Jack Stwa
Fiwa On The Mountain
Estimated Pwophet
Bwokedown Pawace
and, of course, Wittle Wed Wooster

Thanks to you and everyone else who came in with suggestions to sing the blues away. I appreciate it more than I can say.

It might be too late to sing your blues away, but one of my favorite albums to turn my mood is Willie Dixon's "I am the Blues." You might recognize a few songs on the list. Grab it here:

Hope the down times turn the corner for you soon Rob.

On another note:
Mrs. Wine and I watched the Stone of Destiny last night.

The movie was pretty good, but I found the history very intriguing.

If any of our suggestions helped in that regard then all the nonesense that goes on around here is worthwhile.

They could've called it "Let It Blow" or is that just what I think of this release?

" They could've called it "Let It Blow" or is that just what I think of this release? "

Awesome! Of course I disagree, I think it's a good set and there's a lot of people who like the 80's so not a bad thing to spread it around. As good as 68-77 nothing is but like I said not a bad pick if you're going to give one out to the 80's crowd.

Love you're post though. I actually DID laugh out loud

Honestly I haven't listened to much 80's Dead. Really not enough to have a legitimate opinion. I was basing my disappointment with the release in conjunction with their announcement of the chopped up bonus disc of the 12/6/73 show. But you're right about them spreading it around. They've been putting out some good early era shows and they do need to show some love to the 80's.

what release is the 12/6/73 a bonus disc for? That's lame to chop it. I assume it'll have the Dark Star of course right?

Don't get me wrong on the 88 releaase. It's 88, not 68-77 so it's not earth shattering imo BUT the cumberland>deal is pretty damn hot

They're releasing the 12/6/73 as a bonus disc to the Road Trips subscription. Yet another of the many things I don't understand. I really think that if they're going to release partial shows, why don't they put out stuff where only partial shows are available? A perfect example is 10/25/69. http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-10-25.sbd.jagla.81.sbefail.shnf
There isn't enough for a full release, so why not use this as a bonus disc.

well realistically they cant release everything. I can see the reasoning behind releasing a highlight of a show as a bonus disc but it seems like they constantly pick the wrong shows to chop vs what they release whole. guess as in that post LIA posted its really driven home that they really dont know what the fans want although to be fair we dont always agree ourselves. i always thought a membership or pay as you go thing would work but the download series didnt work plus not everyone has a good printer for the packaging. seems like maybe a priority should be to digitally remaster on the same level as they would releasing officially. or are they already doing that?

No, no. Quite true. Remember the Levi's commercial Jerry was working on? This was another commercial. For Clearasil. You MUST remember these lines:

She comes from the town where they call her the pimply daughter
She's bumpy as the frogs that jump in the icky muddy water
Now she drives it away with the cream about which Jerry has taught her
Let it flow, all over your zitty face, until it's cleeeear!

Then the announcer came on: "Do you wish you were Dead? Well, now you can be Grateful! Grateful to Jerry, the boys, and CLEARASIL!"

The music then faded out:

Let it glow, let it glow, thanks Jerry-O!

Granted, they didn't do it often in performance. But now you can have your very own copy! So get out those credit cards.
